Artist Statement (excerpt)

“The contradiction so puzzling to the ordinary way of thinking comes from the fact that we have to use language to communicate our inner experience, which in its very nature transcends linguistics.” – D.T. Suzuki

“Linguistics Beheld” is an exhibition of new work that deals with that nature of language and the presence of visual language in art. I feel art brings matters of the intangible back into the physical domain. These works apply literary tools such as metaphor and allegory. Upon observation, one may find a truth each unique to them.

Though a work may be personally motivated in its creation and content, every work has an undeniable undertone of the universality of human experience.
