ArtWalk Book Club: The Hours

We have formed a quarterly Book Club that will explore a book
thematically connected to the current ArtWalk exhibition.

ArtWalk Opening: Marilyn Parkinson Thrall’s “The Dress/Memory and Metaphor” is March 16, 2018. The artist creates dresses void of figure to represent the space between our public and private lives and works in monochromatic tones to give the sculptures a ghostlike quality.

Our book selection will be The Hours by Michael Cunningham. The novel won the 1999 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction and was inspired by Virginia Woolf’s novel, Mrs. Dalloway.

The book discussion will be facilitated by Louise Blalock, former HPL Chief Librarian.

RSVP to mcallahan@hplct.org or 860-695-6351 by March 19.
